At Emmer we want to leave a lasting positive impression; whether that is our seriously special food, our impact on the environment or how we can support the community around us.
SOURCING WITH CARE
We work closely with all our suppliers to guarantee the origins of our ingredients, including meat from high welfare farms, sustainability certified fish and seafood, cage free eggs, and the freshest fruit and vegetables sourced from local farms. Our artisan-made pepperoni is nitrate-free.
Our cheeses and cured meats are certified D.O.P. (EU Protected Designation of Origin) meaning they are produced and processed in a specific geographic region according to traditional methods.
We work with homegrown Hong Kong artisanal brands, supporting local businesses, small batch production and the finest ingredients. This includes our coffee, brewed locally by Rubix, our XTC Gelato, which is naturally lower in fat, and Moonzen lager, the local god of home brewed craft beer.
WATER FOR GOOD
Our restaurants have their own water cleansing and purification system. By purifying, bottling and carbonating our own water in-house, we are saving thousands of water bottles from heading to landfill and reducing the need for imported
BALANCED DINING
We believe in flexible dining and the environmental and health benefits of plant-based options. Over 50% of our menu is vegetarian or vegan. We also have gluten-free and dairy-free options.
PRESERVING PRECIOUS RESOURCES
We are conscious of our environmental footprint and avoid over-use of air conditioning, limit unnecessary water usage across our operations and recycle our glass waste.
We aim to serve the right-size portions in order to reduce food waste, and encourage customers to take leftovers home.
We are working closely with the Redress organisation to spread awareness of the need to reduce fashion waste, one of the world’s largest polluters.
CARING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We are active supporters of Mind HK’s Mental Health Food Week, highlighting the importance of spending quality mealtimes with loved ones.
